Princess Charlene of Monaco visited her native South Africa again at the weekend, alone, without her husband, although it was initially announced that it would be a joint visit with Prince Albert.

Charlene, 40, was in South Africa for the first time in two years – when serious health problems left her there for six months, before returning to Monaco again.

The princess attended a number of charity events organized by her water safety foundation.

A highlight of the three-day visit to the Sun City resort was her participation in the “Learn to Swim” event with more than 100 local students. The event was organized by the Princess Charlene Foundation South Africa in collaboration with Lifesaving South Africa.

The former Olympic swimmer spoke to the children who received certificates of completion before posing for photos with them.

On Saturday, the princess took part in the 5th edition of the ‘Princess’ Water Bike Challenge’, which was held outside the Mediterranean for the first time.
