The first edition of his novel Francis Scott Fitzgerald The Great Gatsby» will be sold at Christie’s auction in London on September 28

A first edition of “The Great Gatsby” signed by author F. Scott Fitzgerald is expected to sell for between 200,000 and 300,000 British pounds ($245,000-367,000), according to auction house Christie’s.

The book will be sold alongside other literary works, artefacts and memorabilia from the collection of the late Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts.

The ‘Charlie Watts: Gentleman, Collector, Rolling Stone’ auction on September 28 also includes the first edition of Arthur Conan Doyle’s ‘The Hound of the Baskervilles’ and ‘London: A Pilgrimage » by Gustave Doré and William Blanchard Gerrold.

The Rolling Stones drummer’s collection also includes signed photos of jazz legends Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington.

“Jazz and modern literature were his two favorite things outside of touring,” said Benedict Winter, specialist in private and iconic collections at Christie’s.
