Wishes for a speedy recovery were received by the famous Italian actress, Sophia Loren, from its restaurant group. The actress underwent emergency surgery for multiple fractures she suffered after an accident in the bathroom of her home in Geneva, Switzerland.
Lauren, who turned 89 on Sept. 20, suffered multiple hip fractures, a source close to her told The Hollywood Reporter. Her sons Eduardo and Carlo Ponti Jr. are always by her side while there is “guarded optimism” for her recovery.

The actress was due to attend the opening of the fourth restaurant under her name in Bari on September 26. Sophia Loren restaurants exist in Florence, Milan and Rome.
The restaurant group in a post on Instagram wrote, among other things, “…now he will have to spend a short period of recovery, after which he will proceed to full recovery. Fortunately, all went well and Ms. Lauren will be back with us very soon. The whole team takes this opportunity to wish her a speedy recovery».
The star’s last public appearance was at the Giorgio Armani fashion show on September 2during the 80th Venice Film Festival.
