I like being in love, I don’t care if it’s a man or a woman, says Maria Bethânia

In times when the so-called “emotional”, those who fall in love quickly, can be rejected in relationships, Maria Bethânia sees herself as a person who loves to love — be it things, people or music.

“I love it too much! I like being in love. I need to be in love with something, with my garden, with my animals, with whatever. Passion is essential for me”, she says, highlighting that she lived her relationships with freedom.

“If I fall in love, I don’t care if it’s a man, a woman, a dog, a parakeet or a parrot,” he added, in an interview with Ela magazine.

The artist said that what delights her is meeting people and their stories, dramas of the heart. “I think it’s beautiful.”

Anyone who thinks that the old guard resents new artists is mistaken. Bethânia, who has collaborated with names like Gloria Groove, Liniker and Chico Chico, appreciates the emergence of other names and ways of making music.

“I think the movement that is happening is beautiful. Music has revealed itself with strength, with new inspirations and ways of presenting it. I see these gigantic festivals, with artists from abroad and Brazilians, and we owe absolutely nothing to the famous people from abroad.”
