The couple, who started dating on December 4, 2018, celebrated their union with a party on February 4, 2022. In a post on Instagram, the two showed the moment they signed the marriage certificate at the registry office.
“We don’t agree on these numbers 4, but I believe that this number will always hold beautiful things for us”, shared Rodrigo in his post, adding: “We hadn’t made it civil yet, but today, on 10/04/2023, we are officially married before the law. We will continue to fight daily for our rights as LGBTQIA+ citizens in Brazil and around the world.”
Rodrigo’s union is accompanied by a surname that many associate with pastor Silas Malafaia, whose great-nephew he is, although he claims a lack of contact with the evangelical leader, as per an interview with the newspaper Extra.
Raised in a traditionally evangelical family, the model says he is committed to transforming his surname into a symbol of love and inclusion, as opposed to its association with divisions and prejudice.
