Bill Gates he has his own castle. The co-founder of Microsoft bought the famous “Castello di San Giorgio” in the Liguria region of Italy for about $60 million, as first reported by Italian newspaper Il Secolo XIX.

According to the historical paper, Gates bought the unique property through the Four Seasons real estate company, which may mean turning it into a luxury resort. Like in June 2022 when he bought the Palazzo Marini in Rome and turned it into a six-star hotel.

The ‘Castello di San Giorgio’, which is said to be the most famous property in the village, is also known as the ‘Portofino Castle’. As the Daily Mail reports, it was used as a defensive fort during Roman times due to its elevated position, but was later abandoned. A British diplomat bought it several decades later and turned it into a luxury villa. It has 12 apartments and an elevator that drops guests to the picturesque beaches of the famous destination.

Famous fashion designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana own villas there, while Leonardo DiCaprio, Jeff Bezos, Kylie Minogue and Jennifer Lopez have visited the colorful fishing village.
