“What is happening in Israel is catastrophic. To see all these families and especially the children being arrested, assaulted and killed in the streets is heartbreaking. Imagine if that happened to you?? It’s incomprehensible,” wrote Madonna.
“Conflicts can never be resolved by violence. Unfortunately Humanity does not understand this Universal truth. He hasn’t figured it out. We live in a world ravaged by hate. My heart is in Israel. To families and homes that have been destroyed. To the children who are lost. To the innocent victims who have been killed. To all who suffer or will suffer from this conflict. I am praying for you. I know this is the work of Hamas and there are many innocent people in Palestine who do not support this terrorist organization. This tragic attack will cause more pain for everyone. Let us all pray. For Israel. For Peace” she wrote in her caption.
The “political” move at Eurovision that caused an uproar
When Madonna appeared on the Eurovision stage in Israel in 2019, she caused a stir as she managed to convey a “political” message of peace and reconciliation by placing on the backs of two dancers who were hugging the flags of Israel and Palestine.
ICYMI the Israel and Palestinian flag was shown briefly on the back of two of the performers at the end of Madonna’s performance.
The EBU and broadcaster KAN have said they were unaware that this was going to happen and that it did not occur during rehearsals. pic.twitter.com/iBi6HKZK8c

At the time, there was great annoyance to the organizers as there were no flags in the rehearsals. In fact, then the EBU had declared about Madonna’s move. “Eurovision is not a political event and Madonna knew that.”
