BBB 22: Barbara’s team denies eating disorder and asks for respect

​After calling attention to crying talking about her food, Bárbara Heck, 29, participant of BBB 22 (Globo) was defended by her team that takes care of social networks. This Monday (31), the official Instagram profile of the participant denied that she suffers from eating disorders.

“We know Barbara out here, and for those who live with her, this behavior is normal.
It’s sad to see so much hate speech, judgment and diagnoses without accountability. Even if she had something, we don’t believe this is the best way to express concern,” the statement said.

During a recent conversation with other participants, Barbara became stressed and cried as she was pressured about her food. The model follows a strict diet and consumes only fruits, vegetables and eggs.

The administrators of Barbara’s profile said that she has a family and a life outside the program and, therefore, it would be negligent on the part of these people to allow the model to participate in the reality show if she was not in good health. “We would certainly do something. This is bigger than a game. We are the ones most interested in seeing her well. This pressure for food on what she eats, or stops eating, has already passed the limits of what is acceptable”, he argued.

​The text also pointed out that many fake news are being created from “fragments of speech” of the participant, who turns and moves talks about the foods she does not consume. “They twist this into a truth and at the moment the possibilities are limited, according to what she likes.”

“Our position is, Barbara is being pressured because she has different tastes and habits.
She did an endurance test, never got sick and doesn’t even show signs of any such behavior. She is very active in the game and in competitions, being even recognized for her emotional intelligence”, reinforced the team.

About the crying episode, the note said that because of the pressure of the game, the sister’s psychological is vulnerable and this is something understandable. “But she’s fine and yes, she’s healthy. According to the tests she did to be on the show. So thank you to everyone who truly cares about her.”
