Korean director Celine Song’s directorial debut “Past Lives” comes to theaters on October 12 from Tanweer. We saw it and bring you some of our thoughts
On October 12th, we’re making an appointment at the cinemas to cry but also laugh with the film “Past Lives”, the directorial debut of the Korean Celine Song. I was one of the lucky ones who managed to see the film at its pan-Hellenic premiere, on the 29th Premiere Nights, and although almost two weeks have passed since then, it is still in my thoughts. It’s one of those movies that leaves a little thorn in the heart, but in a way that you know you’ll come back to at some point in the future, because it touched a very part of you. It is a movie-experience that the words one chooses to describe it, are the same ones that describe feelings.
It should be noted that it has already been released in America and had its world premiere at last year’s Sundance Festival in January and then at the Berlin Festival in February, while it is expected to be shown directly at this year’s Oscar Awards.
