Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie balances between the few films in which she stars, between the highly commercial – such as “Maleficent”, “Kung Fu Panda” and “Marvel’s Eternals” – and the very personal, such as “Those Who Wish Me Dead” and ” By the Sea,” which she directed and starred in alongside her ex-husband, Brad Pitt. She also has her fashion brand, advertising commitments, companies and humanitarian work.

The two exclusive images from the movie “Maria” were released on Monday. Angelina Jolie is stunning.

47-year-old Pablo Laren is known in Hollywood for his biographies. In 2016, he became famous with “Neruda”, a film about the Chilean poet Pablo Neruda, which “triumphed” in film festivals. But it was really “Jackie,” which explored Jacqueline Kennedy’s pain and trauma after the assassination of her husband, John F. Kennedy, that really catapulted him to stardom. The iconic figure was played by Natalie Portman, who was nominated for an Oscar for her performance (Emma Stone eventually won for “La La Land”).

There were high expectations when “Spencer,” a very personal portrait of Princess Diana and her decision to divorce then-Prince Charles, hit theaters in 2021. Lady Di was played by Kristen Stewart, who won the her first Oscar nomination, although the award went to Jessica Chastain for “The Eyes of Tammy Faye.”

Now, Lahren explores another complex female character: Greek diva Maria Callas. The film could earn Jolie her third Oscar nomination and second Oscar. For now, the challenge is to achieve physical likeness, as Maria Callas is a well-known public figure and has been portrayed by Fanny Ardant in Franco Zeffirelli’s ‘Callas Forever’ (2002), Paz Vega in ‘Grace de Monaco’ (2014) and Jane Seymour in the TV movie ‘Onassis: The Richest Man in the World’ (1988).

Also starring Pierfrancesco Favino, Alba Rohrwacher and Kodi Smit-McPhee.
