Jason Isaacs: The first images of the actor as Cary Grant for the miniseries “Archie”

In the images, Jason Isaacs appears tanned, wears thick-rimmed glasses and has slicked-back, side-parted grey-black hair.

The series tells the story of Cary Grant, who was born Archibald Alexander Leach in Bristol in 1904. He spent his childhood in extreme poverty, dealing with his father’s adultery and the loss of his older brother John. At 14, he joined Bob Pender’s troupe and moved to the US, and soon after Cary Grant was born.

The series will also show his early years in Hollywood with scenes from 1961, the height of Grant’s fame and when he begins to fall in love with Diane Cannon.

Jeff Pope writes the script and is an executive producer of the “Archie” series.

Grant’s daughter Jennifer Grant and ex-wife Diane Cannon “both gave their blessing to the show’s creators,” Deadline reports.
