Singer and musician Lucas Lima was chosen best new actor at the Bibi Ferreira Awards for his performance in “Once – The Musical”. And in gratitude for the trophy, he thanked his “beautiful ex-wife” Sandy.
“To my Lima family, who for the first time in 30 years agreed to stop our band to give these four months as a gift to me. To my beautiful ex-wife who in this case was still a wife and who had to pick up the pieces when I arrived from rehearsals wanting to give up because I wouldn’t be able to handle it. You assured me that I would be able to handle it long before it seemed like I would,” he wrote in a post on social media.
At the end of September, after 24 years of relationship and 15 years of marriage, Sandy and Lucas Lima announced their breakup in a joint statement on social media.
“It was not an easy decision, nor an impulsive one. It was practically 24 years of relationship and 15 years of marriage. With ups and downs, sometimes happier, sometimes less, but always whole and willing to do our best. And we did” , they both wrote.
The singer and the musician guaranteed that the breakup did not involve fights and that they will maintain friendship: “There was no fight, no hurt, no trauma (…) we will stop being a couple in the same way we were one: with lots of love, respect and infinite friendship.”
The singer gave an emotional performance on the tour of “nós, Voz, Eles”, her third studio album, in Lisbon, Portugal. What did not go unnoticed was the presence of Lucas Lima, her ex-husband, who accompanied her on stage. This was the first time the former couple had reunited on tour since announcing the end of their relationship.
