The American Chief Club has for a few months acquired its first “annex” in London in a Georgian-style house in Bloomsbury, with interiors designed by Thirdway studio.
Founded in 2019, Chief has “branches” in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco where women in senior management positions in business can nurture connection with each other, learn from peers in sectors of industry and push more women into leadership positions.

When it came time to design the club’s first overseas branch, Thirdway was asked to maintain the understated aesthetic of its American branches but also to speak to the house’s distinct architecture and chosen London location. .
“We wanted a combination that would give the feel of a Chief but with a London stamp on it, whilst also being sympathetic to the age of the building and the particular area of ​​Londonexplained Alex Hodson, lead designer at Thirdway.
The club occupies a listed house in Bloomsbury, which the studio extended, connecting it via a passageway to a four-storey mews house. with living quarters on top) so that there is enough space for the amenities that the Chief offers.
