Country singer Eduardo Costa was authorized, this Tuesday (25), to raise around R$996,500 until the end of December via the Rouanet Law. The objective is to record a DVD to pay homage to country music from Minas Gerais.

The information appears on the Rouanet transparency portal, and was initially published on the Metrópoles website. O F5 had access to the proposal status document.

According to the government, the case is “forwarded for inclusion in an authorization ordinance for fundraising.” The company Churrasco, Cerveja e Viola – CCV Eventos is responsible, and has Eduardo as one of its partners.

In 2018, the singer, who declared himself a Bolsonarist, went so far as to say that the culture incentive law was a mockery and “a thing for naughty people”.

“Whoever wants to make money now, will look for a service. Go weed a lot, hit a slab, look for something to do. The bullshit, the naughtiness is over. Lei Rouanet’s money never again”, he stated, during the campaign for the then candidate Jair Bolsonaro.

“These artists, actors, bunch of naughty journalists, these naughty people, who want to suck on the government’s teats, the sucking, the naughtiness is over”, he concluded.

Eduardo Costa says that the objective of the production, according to the document, is “the recording of a DVD with country songs in homage to country music, which has traditionally become a symbol of the daily life of rural people, tropeiros and is part of a rich story told in verse and prose in the state of Minas Gerais”.

The repertoire will be chosen after fundraising, but should pay homage to duos from Minas Gerais country music, such as the duo Cesar Menotti and Fabiano.
