Zafirakis shocked PAOK

Another defeat for PAOK. The “two-headed” lost 23-24 to Zafirakis in Naoussa in the match that ended the fifth matchday of the Handball Premier, staying in eighth place with just one win and giving the home team the opportunity to move up to fifth.

The team from Naoussa played an amazing first half, turning 7-10 (18′) and 10-11 (21′) into 15-11 (30′) with individual scores of 8-1 and a 5-0 run.

The hosts maintained their lead for the longest period of the second half (18-14 36′, 19-17 44′, 20-18 48′), however PAOK fell behind. The “two-headed” counterattacked and, with a 3-0 run, led 21-20 in the 55th minute, while Bochkarev made it 21-22 in the 57th minute.

Zafeirakis left wing at 58:11 and led 23-22 with Lola’s goal at 59:27. PAOK with Tzorginis tied 23-23 at 59:42, while the winning goal for Zafeirakis was scored by a former PAOK player, Misailidis, at 59:55.

Goalkeeper Boubulendras and Misailidis, who scored 10 goals, played a great match for Zafiirakis.

PAOK missed many shots from 6 meters and three crucial penalties.
