Celine Dion returns to the spotlight after a year’s absence from the scene. The singer, who canceled her concerts in January after revealing she is suffering from stiff person syndrome (SPS)will auction off intimate memorabilia.
Handwritten lyrics to two of her songs will be among the items in the charity auction “Music Health Alliance’s Lyrics for a Cause”, organized by Julien’s Auctions. The Music Health Alliance is a non-profit organization that provides people in the music industry with health care assistance. According to the organizers, the proceeds “they will provide help and support to music professionals in a difficult position».
The two songs are the “The Prayer”which he recorded in 1999 in collaboration with the famous Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, and the “The Gift”which he composed for the film “Love Again’ in 2023. The price guide for each song is between $200 and $600.
The auction features a historic collection of lyrics from some of the most legendary singers and songwriters of the 20th and 21st centuries, spanning country, pop, rock, gospel, folk and alternative rock music. In addition to Dion’s handwritten lyrics, it also includes memorabilia from artists such as Garth Brooks, Hozier and Rick Springfield.
The auction started on Monday, October 23, 2023 and ends on Tuesday, November 14 at 4:00 p.m. Held online at Julien’s Live Auctions and in person at the Hard Rock Café in Nashville.

“The spasms affect every aspect of my daily life, sometimes making it difficult for me to walk and not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I’m used to,” Dion explained when she announced her illness in December of 2022.

The singer’s last concert was in March 2020 in Newark (United States). Her ‘Courage World Tour’ was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and she has not been able to perform since then.
