Chris Brown, 34, is being sued for allegedly assaulting a man in a nightclub in London, England. In a lawsuit filed on Thursday (26) and obtained by the website TMZ, a man named Abe Diaw alleges that the singer hit him in the face with a bottle of Don Julio 1942 tequila in February at the Tape club.
According to the lawsuit, Brown allegedly hit Diaw in the head with “violent blows” and left him unconscious. Brown then allegedly “continued to stomp mercilessly” for “30 seconds.”
Diaw “ended up in the hospital with cuts to his head and torn ligaments in his leg,” states the lawsuit, which adds that this caused “permanent” damage and “severe emotional distress.” The man claims the nightclub captured the fight on security cameras.
Brown is being sued by Diaw, who is demanding a jury trial, according to the lawsuit.
The singer’s representative and his lawyers did not respond to requests for comment on the accusation.
Brown has a list of legal troubles, starting in 2009, when he physically assaulted then-girlfriend Rihanna. Rihanna was left with visible facial injuries and was hospitalized; Brown was later charged with aggravated battery and criminal threats.
He pleaded guilty to the crime on June 22 of that year and accepted a community work agreement, five years’ probation and domestic violence counseling.
