“It was a really excruciating part for me because my character was so alienated. I was alone and under these horrible conditions. “When I went into the hospital a week after filming ‘Bridgerton’ Season 1, it was covered up and kept secret because the show was going to air.” Barker continued on the podcast. “In the lead up to the show coming out, I had just gotten out of the hospital, my Instagram following was going up, I had all these obligations… My life was changing drastically overnight and yet there was still no support. So I was trying really hard to act like everything was fine and I could work“, she said meaningfully.
