  • Reply 1988 (2015)

The “old caravan” of our list. If you want to start with something casual and cute, Reply 1988 is the perfect choice. The series follows the daily life of four families in the late 80s, hence the title and has it all: laughter, tears, heartache, romance. It beautifully explores the paths of Korean pop culture of that time, from the first musical idols of the time, to the Olympic Games in Seoul. Through the eyes of many different characters, who, however, do not cause congestion, nor overshadow each other, we follow the values, problems, habits, complex relationships that characterize an entire neighborhood in Seoul. Everything you need to Netflix & Chill on the weekend.

  • The Good Bad Mother (2023)

Series

Good Bad Mother puts the Drama in K-Drama. It’s probably one of the most phenomenal dramas of this year and that’s why it definitely deserves a place on your list. It is a heartbreaking story that focuses on the complicated relationship between a mother and son. From his birth, their relationship is formed through tragic adversities, which force the mother to put on a tough mask and adopt, let’s say, not so beneficial methods when raising the child. Growing up, he develops into a cold prosecutor, who after a brutal accident, loses his memory and his mind now works in childlike rhythms. The mother gets a second chance to be the mother she never could be. Family dramas take on other dimensions and the series simply won’t let you put it down.
