Matthew Perry – the beloved “Chandler” from Friends – passed away at the age of 54 on October 28, and his death spread worldwide sadness.

His funeral was held in a close circle on Nov. 3 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, with all the “Friends” there to say goodbye.

The atmosphere was heavy and the song played at Perry’s funeral brought everyone to tears.

The actor himself had chosen in an earlier interview Don’t Give Up (Don’t Give Up), an old Peter Gabriel song with Kate Bush, so apt for how he felt about his friends and their value in the last year of his life when he was struggling with his ‘darkness’ due to his addiction .

In November 2022, Matthew Perry had revealed in an interview that Don’t Give Up could be the soundtrack to the biography of Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing.

“It’s pretty old but it’s great. The two of them sing “Don’t give up”. In the video clip they hug each other until the song ends. It was so nice and I loved it. When I sign my book I always put Don’t give up because I shouldn’t you give up” he had said.
