Marcelo de Carvalho, vice-president and one of the partners of RedeTV! decided to refute the joke that Tatá Werneck made about the broadcaster at the 2023 Multishow Awards, last Tuesday (7). The businessman did not forgive the presenter when citing the investigation by a CPI (Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry) into cryptocurrencies. The actress, Cauã Reymond and Marcelo Tás advertised for a company accused of scamming more than R$7 billion, harming around 200,000 investors.
He also raised a supposed crisis in the actress’s marriage with Rafa Vitti, on his profile on X (formerly Twitter), this Friday (10). Marcelo considered Tatá’s comment at the awards ceremony a “bad taste” joke. “I find it regrettable that a market professional would make a bad taste mockery of another company, which employs thousands of employees who, like her, deserve all the respect”, began the businessman.
Marcelo continued with his criticisms. “More interesting would be to make fun of his rich personal life, full of interesting topics such as his marital problems or the company that defrauded cryptocurrency clients and was investigated by a CPI.”
The confusion was because of the presenter’s comment about the price she had paid for her look for the ceremony: “I made a joke saying that my dress had the same price as on RedeTV’s schedule! and I was sued. I want to apologize and say that this year I came with a dress more expensive than the standard, so we wouldn’t have this problem.”
Tatá was even sued by the broadcaster, which asked for R$50,000 in moral damages, in addition to a retraction from the actress and presenter on her social networks and on the same Multishow, shortly after the award ceremony. However, last year the sentence came out and the court interpreted it as a joke that was incapable of changing people’s image of TV.
