With 86,000 spectators and visitors during its durationthe 64th Thessaloniki Film Festival, reached the levels of attendance achieved in 2019 with the 60th Festival, i.e. the pre-pandemic period.
From November 2nd to 12th, the 64th Festival hosted premieres, discussions and masterclasses, while welcoming important figures of cinema and intellectuals, such as Monica Bellucci, Alexander Payne, Jeremy Ponteswa, Mark Mazauer, Nikos Perakis and Volker Schlendorf, while he had the pleasure of having Haris Alexiou as an ambassador of the Market.

291 screenings took place in physical spaces, while 77 films were shown on the online platform of the Festival, which were watched by 7,700 spectators.
As part of the development activities of the Market, 570 meetings were held between 639 professionals in the cinematography from Greece and abroad, with the aim of turning these processes into new projects, scripts and films.
The five -open to the public- masterclasses held as part of the dedication to Storytelling, attracted people who filled the halls, while a particularly large number of students and young people attended them. Topics such as the evolution, challenges and future of the representation of the LGBTI+ community were also discussed. As part of the Festival, a day was also held dedicated to the work of Nikos Perakis from the Greek Cinema and Television Study Laboratory (EMEKT) of the Film Department of AUTH. At the same time, the Agora of the 64th FKTH organized ten Agora Talks addressed to audiovisual professionals.
More than 7,000 visitors visited the two major exhibitions of the Festival “F NDASM TA” and “Takis Kanellopoulos: Dreaming of an Excursion”, while the exhibition on Takis Kanellopoulos will continue until the end of November, at the West Entry Gate of Gate 1 of the Port .
As part of the Immersive section, 1,000 visitors experienced the interactive augmented reality installation RED|WHITE by Medea Electronique, while 780 screenings of the virtual reality films competing for the Golden Alexander Immersive took place.
The next …festival appointment was set for the period from March 7 to 17, 2024, with the 26th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival.
