It may seem strange for a 26-year-old athlete, however Kyle Guy has been “running” for years a special type of charity organization called the “Kyle Guy Foundation”.
This initiative basically serves those who want to support some charitable action, helping them to invest their money properly so that they can really make a difference. As his player himself describes Panathinaikou in an interview he gave on the official Euroleague website, “we are just an intermediate stage”.
THE Guy has put a lot of emphasis on the mental health part, which he admits is also related to his own experiences of intense anxiety, about which he always talks very openly. “I think having my own experience definitely helps. It helps me make this a focal point, something I focus on because so many people struggle and never ask for help or know what to do or how to talk about it. So I like to be very open and honest about my experience. I definitely believe that everyone can make a difference and contribute in any way possible, even if it’s something small. But it helps me to have this platform”he specifically stated.
Regarding what actions he has managed to support through his organization, he stated: “We have dealt with social injustices, inequalities, with veterans and mental illness. We’ve tackled suicide prevention, we’ve tackled environmental wellness, we’ve done a lot of things. And I’m very proud of that.”
Finally, regarding how someone can get in touch with their organization, he emphasized: “I have an email on my Twitter and Instagram. You can also email anything you want to donate and we have a person who will talk to you and walk you through the process. Whatever issue is important to you, we fulfill it.”
