Presenter Ana Hickmann released a video on Thursday night (16), after registering a police report after being attacked by her husband, Alexandre Correa. In a clip titled “Official Announcement”, on her YouTube channel, she commented on the next steps and how she is feeling.
“There are many things that need to be said, but out of respect for my son and also for my process, this will happen at the right time,” she began, adding a thank you to her fans for their support. “I just want to thank you for the support and messages of affection that I have received from you here, on social media and on television. Unfortunately, many women go through or have already gone through what I experienced and I hope that, like me, they too have a support network.”
Ana Hickmann highlighted how unwell she is. “This time I’m not going to open my video saying ‘Hi guys, how are you?’, because everything is not ok! It’s far from being ok! But like I said on Monday, when I went back to work, at the end of the program Nowadays, I’m still not ready to talk about certain things. Because there’s still a lot of hurt here.”
The Record presenter also highlighted that her son Alexandre witnessed her clash with her husband. “I’m not just a woman, I’m a mother. This mother will defend her little one, her son, in every way,” she said. “My son is the most important thing in life for me. That’s why I’m not ready to talk, he has to be protected.”
Finally, she stated that she hoped to see a “change in history” with what happened, as other women go through the same thing as her. Furthermore, Ana promises to give more details about the attack soon.
“We didn’t have content here because there was no reason to be happy, to put anything good in. It wasn’t happy at all. It hasn’t been happy at all. It’s been very difficult, in fact. I’m not going to stop living, being happy , to fight, to take care of my son.”
