Tom Waits will reunite with Iggy Pop next month when they co-present a two-hour special on BBC Radio 6 Music.

The show will air on Sunday, December 3 with the two musicians exchanging personal anecdotes and performing some of their favorite songs.

Tom Waits will recount, among other things, his trip to Los Angeles with songwriter Eden Ahbez, who wrote Nat King Cole’s 1948 hit “Nature Boy.”

Meanwhile, Iggy Pop will recall how he once bumped into painter and musician Captain Beefheart having breakfast in LA, but was “wise enough not to bother him”.

Some of the songs that will be heard during the show are “Bye Bye Butterfly” by Pauline Oliveros, “Moon River” by Frank Ossian and “Colorado Kool-Aid” by Johnny Paysek, according to a press release.

Tom Waits and Iggy Pop co-starred in the 1993 short film Coffee and Cigarettes: Somewhere in California, which was later included in Jim Jarmusch’s 2003 feature film Coffee and Cigarettes.
