British actor Mark Strong participates in child protection efforts in Ukraine by raising funds to renovate a shelter for 327 students. The actor recently joined the Ukrainian government’s United24 fundraising platform as an ambassador and pledged to help create a safe and secure space for children at a school in Uman to attend classes without fear of missile attacks from Russia amid the ongoing war.

They’re trying to continue their training, but the problem is that they’re in an area where there’s a risk of a bomb landing on their heads, Strong told THR. They have a shelter, like all schools in danger zones, but it’s in really bad shape. We need $60,000 to make it really livable so that if they are in danger, they can go down there and continue their education, he added.

Strong called it outrageous that it will be two years since Russia invaded Ukraine.

The actor hopes that caring citizens around the world will continue to support the Ukrainian government and the fundraising campaign to help its population affected by the war and Russian attacks.

Mark Strong is an ambassador for United24’s Education and Science platform, whose celebrity endorsers also include Barbra Sreizand, Mark Hamill, Liev Schreiber and Kathryn Winnick.
