Zezé Di Camargo recovered the moment he decided to marry Zilu, his ex-wife. In an interview with PodCats, this Wednesday (22), the country singer spoke about the couple’s relationship, when he was 19 years old, and stated that he cheated on her on several occasions.
“Suddenly, I got married at 19 years old, because my ex-wife got pregnant,” he said, when asked about their romance. “She [Zilu]She’s four years older than me, and her parents were against us dating, because they thought I was a brat and had no future. They wanted her to marry a guy older than her, who had a future. It’s normal for every father to think this. I had nowhere to fall dead. I lived from singing in one place or another.”
Luciano’s duo says that her parents were against the relationship and that they withheld the information about the pregnancy until the third month. “There was no way to hide it anymore, I told her: then we’re going to get married. Because if you trusted me, and got pregnant with me, I won’t let your family massacre you.”
Furthermore, Zezé said he cheated on Zilu during the 32 years of their relationship. “I am a lived-in man, who has had all the experiences with women in life. Beautiful women like Gra [Graciele Lacerda, atual do sertanejo], I had as much as I wanted during my life. There was a time in my life, from 1992 to 2005, when I was a bagaceiro. I passed the wheel. I don’t deny that.”
The artist, however, emphasizes that he never stopped “fulfilling his obligations”. “That doesn’t mean that I stopped being a great father, that I stopped loving my children (…) There came a time when I said: wait a minute, I can’t stand doing what I’m doing and going through good guy: do one thing and show others that I am something else, which is what most people do. They are hypocrites and liars. I arrived at a moment and said: I can’t hold back this wave any longer. When I left, I went detonated.”
