OR Sika Katsarovapresident of the Bulgarian Union of Loutrotherapy and Therapeutic Tourism and the newly elected president of the European Association of Spa (ESPA), stated that its mission as the head of ESPA is to boost health tourism throughout Europe and to ensure the promotion of the Association.

Opening the European conference Spa and Bath Therapy 2025 In the Haapsalou of EstoniaKatsarova stressed that “the new leadership must present clear and applicable proposals, because health tourism is at the crossroads of two industries – healthcare and tourism. ESPA should play an active role in prevention and rehabilitation, in support of the largest destinations.

The conference organized by ESPA in collaboration with the Estonian Ministry of Finance and Industry began yesterday, Wednesday and continues today. BTA is a communication sponsor.

Sika Katsarova was elected President of ESPA, succeeding him Tierry Dibouaat the start of the conference.

For the first time in the history of 30 years of the Association, a personality by Bulgaria is chosen to lead the organizationwhich represents top destinations of spa, bath therapy and well -being in more than 20 countries. The election of Katsarova is regarded as recognition of the country’s position in natural therapeutic sources and thermal tourism.

Its candidacy was supported by the Minister of Tourism Miroslav Borss, In a letter to ESPA, he stressed that its leadership ability, experience and vision will guarantee that the Organization will continue to thrive and remain at the forefront of innovation and excellence in Europe’s health tourism sector.

Katsarova takes the role at a time when Europe is now focusing in the prevention and sustainability. Its term will aim for the ESPA to be a key partner of the European Commission in health areas, including prevention, rehabilitation and well -being, as well as tourism, through closer cooperation with the responsible health care services, regional development, agricultural areas.
