Scout Willis, daughter of Bruce Willis, recorded on social media a moment of affection that she and her father shared on Thanksgiving Day, celebrated in the United States this Thursday (23).
The 32-year-old daughter of Bruce and Demi Moore posted a video to her Instagram Stories of her father — who was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia earlier this year — gently holding her hand as the two sat together at the dinner table.
In the video, which is now circulating on X (formerly Twitter), Bruce, 68, wears a gray beanie and matching light gray sweatshirt for the festive day, while Scout wears a white blouse with a floral print.
In a record shared by Scout, she rested her head on her father’s right hand as he stood behind her.
It’s unclear whether the star’s blended family spent Thanksgiving together or not, but Bruce’s wife, Emma Heming, posted a group photo of the family on the holiday. “I’m grateful and grateful to know this kind of love,” she wrote on Instagram.
Netizens noted that the photo appeared to be old, as Bruce’s eldest daughter, Rumer Willis, was pregnant in the group photo — she gave birth to her daughter, Louetta, in April.
Bruce’s wife and five daughters have been open and transparent about their journey through his health struggles.
After revealing the actor’s original aphasia diagnosis in a statement in February, the family shared that the moments they have with him are precious.
“He’s the same, which in that respect I’ve learned is the best thing you can ask for,” his third daughter, Tallulah Willis, said on “The Drew Barrymore Show” earlier this month. “I see love when I’m with him, and he’s my dad and he loves me, which is really special.”
The family has also shared their grief on social media, with Rumer posting on Instagram last week an old photo of her and her father with a touching caption. “Missing my daddy so much,” she wrote alongside the photo.
The wife also spoke about what family life has been like since her diagnosis, revealing that she sometimes feels “guilt” about having access to resources that other families suffering from similar health problems do not have. “When I am able to go for a walk to clear my mind, it doesn’t help me realize that not all caregivers can do this,” she explained.
