Mariah became the first woman ever to have three songs reign at number one for double-digit weeks. He’s also the third artist ever to do so, with Boyz II Men and Drake being the other two.

In December 2019, “All I Want For Christmas Is You” topped the Rolling Stone Top 100, becoming Mariah’s first number one song on the chart.

He co-wrote the hit holiday song with veteran songwriter Walter Afanasieff, who says the speed with which they wrote it is the secret to the song’s success. “It’s definitely not Swan Lake,” he said. “But that’s why it’s so popular – because it’s so simple and delicious!”
