A man named Diego Maradona, from Sergipe, claims to be the son of Zeca Pagodinho and has gone to court to ensure that the relationship is proven. A DNA test has already been scheduled, but it generated disagreement between the pagodeiro and his supposed son.

According to the Leo Dias portal, the boy is 36 years old and says that his biological mother got involved with Zeca in 1987, when the pagodeiro was already famous and married to his current wife, Mônica Silva. Upon discovering that she was pregnant, she decided to have the child in the northeast, where she left him in the care of her godparents, who later adopted him. She only revealed who the child’s father was after insistence from her relatives.

According to Leo Dias, Diego discovered at the age of 11 that he was adopted and, in 2017, he tried to make his first contact with Zeca’s advisors. More recently, contact was made again, and a DNA test was scheduled, but an impasse between the parties meant that the alleged son took legal action against the singer.

Zeca Pagodinho’s advisor says that the artist has always made himself available to carry out the DNA test. “It turns out that the applicant did not accept that the examination would be carried out in a private location suggested by the artist, who, although he is a public person, needs to have his privacy preserved”, says the released note.

The note says that the singer’s legal team learned from the press that Diego requested the procedure be carried out in court. “If the judiciary determines that it be carried out, the artist will do so as a law-abiding citizen that he is”, completes the note.

Wanted by F5the Rio de Janeiro Court of Justice informed that the process cannot be accessed.
