The unknown motives behind his fatal shooting John Lennon by Mark David Chapman are featured in the new 3-part Apple TV+ documentary titled “John Lennon: Murder Without a Trial”.
Through exclusive interviews of eyewitnesses and close people in the life of the “beetle”, new answers and information are given about how a photographer from Hawaii wanted to kill Lennon.
Others include the psychiatrist who first evaluated Chapman, taxi driver Richard Peterson who witnessed the shooting, and Jay Hastings, a janitor at the historic Dakota Building who heard Lennon’s last words.
As yet unpublished crime scene photos see the light of day for the first time in a narration by Emmy Award winner Kiefer Sutherland and directed by Nick Holt and Rob Coldstream.
It is noted that through the Freedom of Information Act, the production was given access to records from the New York Police Department, the Parole Board and the Attorney General’s office.
“John Lennon: Murder Without a Trial” will debut on the platform from December 6.
