Lucas Lucco surprised fans with a statement on social media on Thursday night (7). The singer announced that he will take a break from his concert schedule to take care of his mental health. He said he has bipolar affective disorder (BAD), a disorder that causes mood swings that often range from depression to episodes of obsession, and in recent months he has suffered several crises.
The country singer began by reporting that this year, 2023, he had to postpone and even cancel some shows. He also said that the last month was very difficult. “I had numerous attacks throughout the year, but on November 7th, it became very intense and from then on, I was symptom-free for only 3 days out of those 30.”
Lucas Lucco, who participated in the film “Rodeio Rock”, also told about his treatment. “I was already undergoing a type of treatment and now I decided to look for a professional specialized in my case, who completely changed the approach to help me stabilize. I’m sure I’ll be able to get over this again”, he explained.
He reinforced that he loves singing, but he needs to be well to be able to work. “I love everything I do, I love my work on and off the stage, but sometimes TAB can limit me a lot and that’s why I need that little break”, he said. “I need to be 100% for my son, the stage, the companies and to realize the dreams and goals that I still have to achieve.”
Lucas apologized to his fans for the show cancellations and gave some advice: “You know, there are open wounds that are invisible to our eyes, but that doesn’t mean they’re still very… very painful. Be kind to everyone because you never know what that that person is living behind the scenes and that many, when leaving home, choose a mask to wear around“he wrote.
