Linda Evangelista she wants her followers to take their health seriously. On Friday, December 8, 2023, the 58-year-old model, who was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018used the social media platform to raise awareness among citizens about getting routine check-ups.

“On behalf of @su2c (Stand Up To Cancer) and during #CancerScreeningWeek, I’m asking everyone to realize how important it is to schedule an appointment with your doctor to create a cancer screening plan that is suitable for you. Screenings save lives“, she wrote in her Instagram post.

In fact, the famous model included a selfie in her post, noting that it was an old photo from her mammogram and biopsy in 2018. A scar was visible on her left breast as she looked at the camera.

The model had opened up about her cancer diagnosis to the WSJ. “It was detected in my annual mammogram. The prognosis was not good and due to other health factors, without hesitation, because I wanted to put it all behind me and not have to deal with it, I chose the mastectomy. Thinking I was fine and ready for my life. There was no way breast cancer was going to kill me“, he had revealed.

However, in July 2022, Evangelista, after palpation, found a lump in her breast and eventually learned that the cancer had “come back”.

“Dig a hole in my chest,” she told her oncologist after her second diagnosis. “I don’t want it to look pretty. I want you to dig. I want to see a hole in my chest when you’re done. You understand me; I’m not going to die from this“, said the famous model with disarming honesty.

Recently, her oncologist had good news to tell her. Her prognosis is good. She now feels grateful for every day she lives.
