The famous singer Bryan Adams (Bryan Adams) in an interview with the Sunday Times, spoke for the first time about his friendship with Princess Diana which began with a song he wrote about her marriage to the then Prince Charles, entitled Diana.

They met on a plane with Diana telling him she “would like to hear it again”, so he “sent a copy to Kensington Palace and then got an invitation to tea and that’s how we became friends”.

“We had many, very good discussions, I must tell you. It’s actually weird and surreal to think about. I really liked Diana, she was an amazing woman and a super big inspiration,” Adams said during the interview.

“Meeting her was truly one of the greatest things that ever happened to me,” he added.

He stopped playing the song “out of respect” when she died in 1997.

His friendship with Amy Winehouse

In the interview he also talked about trying to help British singer Amy Winehouse with her demons in 2007.

“I met Amy when I photographed her and we became friends,” noted the star, who then invited her to spend Christmas with his family at his villa on Mystic Island.

“Sure, I tried to help her, but, you know, it has to come from inside you. I really don’t know what happened to Amy and it’s so sad because she was so talented and I admired her uniqueness so much,” the singer said, among other things.

According to the BBC, the talented singer was found dead in her flat in Camden, London in 2011.
