The Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Kate Middleton, continue the tradition of sending a Christmas card with their children to wish them happy holidays at the end of each year. This weekend, the couple barely released their 2023 family photo and the repercussions were not so positive. All because of an alleged publishing error: Prince Louis, 5, appears in the image without his middle finger.
Although the royal family did not notice the supposed error, as they did not change the photo signed by photographer Josh Shinner, the subjects soon noticed the missing one of the fingers on the youngest son’s hand.
Louis is leaning on a chair in which Princess Charlotte, 8, appears sitting, and the boy appears on his sister’s back without his finger. Blame it on too much of an image editing program? Or was it just another joke on the part of the boy, known by the British press as very active?
The fact is that it didn’t take long for the “failure” to become one of the most talked about topics on social media. “What happened to Louis’ middle finger?” asked a user on X (formerly Twitter). “Maybe before releasing the Christmas card, didn’t they see that they used too much photoshop?”, commented another follower. “Louis positioned his hand wrong. The finger is there and it’s just a matter of optics”, defended the third user of the platform.
