Presenter Silvio Santos made a rare appearance this Tuesday morning (12), the day he turns 93 years old. The owner of SBT received some fans at the door of his house, in the Morumbi neighborhood, south of São Paulo.
In the video, Silvio Santos receives the song ‘congratulations to you’ and is accompanied by one of his daughters, the eldest, Cinthia Abravanel. Silvio smiles and says goodbye to the fans.
Silvio has not appeared on a TV program since September 2022, when he recorded his last appearances on his Sunday show, which has been on air since the 1960s.
The tribute was orchestrated by journalist and unconditional fan of the presenter, Roger Turchetti, who gathered a caravan of fans and took a sound car to the location to wake him up with songs that marked his career, such as “Silvio Santos Vem Aí”, ” Ritmo de Festa” and “É Hora de Brincar”, as well as songs by Spanish singer Julio Iglesias, of whom Silvio is a big fan.
During the tribute, which was covered by Fofocalizando, Silvio hinted that he might return to TV. “I’m very happy! And I’m very grateful for this gift from the fans. The idea is sensational and gives me the energy to come back”, said Silvio.
Today, the Silvio Santos Program is led by Patrícia Abravanel. In an interview with F5 in August, Patrícia says that she still hopes that Silvio will make one last appearance on SBT.
“I don’t think he’ll ever retire, he might not be presenting, but he’s still very involved,” he says. “For me, he always says he’s going to present next week’s show! I hope she goes, because everyone misses me, including me (laughs).”
