The stone-built, traditional settlement of Dimitsana in mountainous Arcadia has fanatical… fans who visit it every year for its natural beauty, its history and… its taverns!

Dimitsana is built in a mountainous location, on a hill at an altitude of 946 meters, with a wonderful view of the plain of Megalopolis and Taygetus.

The legendary Lousios River, a place of outstanding natural beauty and historical importance, is dotted with historical and religious monuments that are worth visiting.

Its history begins in Homeric times. During the years of the Ottoman rule, it played an important role with the “Secret School” and in 1821 with “Dimitsanitiko
