Nominations for this year’s Iris Awards by the Hellenic Film Academy

On the way to 13th Iris Awards the Hellenic Film Academy (EAK) announces the movies from which this year’s nominations will emerge.

Particularly, 114 films in total submitted as entries to the 13th Iris Awards. Twenty feature-length fiction, 15 feature-length documentaries, 4 feature-length Greek minority co-productions, 31 feature-length fiction, 11 short-length documentaries, 11 short animation and 22 student short films.

The nomination process will start soon and the members of EAK will watch the films and select the nominees for the 22 awards that will be awarded.

Especially for the student films, the final group of films that will participate in the nomination process will result from the vote of 10 members of EAK, namely the directors Maria Iliou, Thelgias Petraki and Stavros Psyllakis, the actress Maria Filinou, Vassos Paragos , the director of photography George Karvelas, the set designer Daphne Kalogianni, the editor Stamos Dimitropoulos, the make-up artist Ioanna Lygizou, and the sound engineer Giannis Antipas.

The nomination of all categories will be followed by the final vote of the members of EAK, and the winners will be announced at the Iris Awards ceremony, details of which will be announced soon.

The motto of this year’s awards is “We are Love”. “From the elementary particles that make up the images to the multicellular organisms that are the crews, from the anticipation and desire moment when the lights go out before the beginning titles, to the tangled fingers of the viewers watching a movie, everything illuminates with love the big screen. After all, this is also Iris: A celebration in honor of the love for cinema, from and to the films, the creators, the darkroom, the public “notes the EAK.
