According to reports in the international press, Cher she has filed for guardianship of her youngest son because she fears he can’t manage his money properly.
In legal documents cited by the New York Post and the website TMZ, the pop icon states that the Elijah Blue Allman is “essentially unable to manage his own financial resources.”
According to TMZ, the 47-year-old is entitled to regular payments from a trust of his late father and Allman Brothers Band singer Gregg Allman.

Cher, who was married to Allman from 1975 to 1979, fears her son will spend all his money because of his mental health and substance abuse problems.
Two of his siblings have reportedly suggested Cher act as guardian, which would put her in charge of her son’s financial and personal affairs. As in the case of Britney Spears, whose life was largely controlled by her father from 2008 to 2021.
The famous singer’s documents, which were filed on Wednesday, December 27, come after she denied allegations that she hired men to kidnap her son from a New York hotel room in November 2022. The claims were made by the estranged his wife, Marie King, from whom he filed for divorce in 2021.
Cher told People magazine that “this rumor is not true.” Cher also has an older son, 54-year-old Chaz Bono, with her first husband, Sonny Bono.
