Influencer Blogueirinha took to social media to apologize for publishing a photo alongside businessman Rodrigo Branco. In 2020, the famous celebrity tour guide in Orlando surprised friends and followers by making racist statements against presenter and journalist Maju Coutinho and doctor Thelma Assis.
“Hi guys, I came here to clarify the latest situations that happened. I wanted to start by apologizing and saying that I understand the seriousness of the situation. I came with five friends to spend Christmas here in Orlando and I went to a party that had 200 people, and I didn’t I knew almost no one”, he began.
“I have already deleted the photo and I would like to reinforce that I do not agree with the opinions of the people who were there. I hope they understand. For me, it is serving as a lesson”, he concluded.
In March 2020, in a conversation via Instagram live with digital influencer Ju de Paulla, Branco said that “supporting Thelma (at BBB) is racist”, and that her fans exist only because “she’s a poor black woman”.
He also commented on Maju. “It’s the same thing I say about Maju Coutinho. She’s terrible, she’s horrible. I watched it today and she says everything wrong. She’s only there because of her color,” he said. “She doesn’t have a career, she’s never been a field reporter, she says everything wrong.”
The repercussion of the statements was negative, and moments later the businessman took to his Instagram profile to apologize. In a video, he said: “Several times I’ve spoken nonsense and I’ve spoken about things that changed my mind. […] It’s ignorant not to change your mind, not to listen and not to talk. I wanted to say one thing and I said something completely different, I was completely racist,” he said at the time.
