This petite girl who went around without a bra, the little “freckled fawn”, with the non-negotiable sexual confidence, who partied harder than any pop star… These are the iconic images of supermodel Kate Moss.

But now, with her 50th birthday just days away, Moss is in the midst of a “rebirth”. In this she is not unusual. After all, there are many who rethink their lives when this milestone approaches and reconsider…Celebrities whose reputations have been built on looks that inevitably fade.

However, Kate Moss’ transformation is, perhaps, more daring than most. After leaving the raucous North London scene of the 20s and 30s, and now settling in a Grade II listed mansion in the Cotswolds, the former supermodel is trying her hand at being a wellness entrepreneur.

For those who remember Kate Moss, when a cigarette dangled almost permanently from her lips, this may seem like a 180-degree turn.

Going back several years, her beauty routine, as she has revealed, was basically limited to the habit of plunging that gorgeous face into a basin of ice water to clear her head after a night out. He never exercised.

But now, as the proud owner of wellness business Cosmoss, which sells a range of own-brand teas, skincare products and a book of 150 ‘positive messages’, she does it all. She has a £4,000 Cadillac Pilates reformer machine in her home and a personal trainer, Hortense Suleyman.

He walks, lifts weights. She tries all the expensive treatments – although she doesn’t want to talk about them. She has revealed that she loves various expensive face masks and Neal’s Yard essential oils. She also uses an at-home LED device, which she claims has anti-aging properties and makes her skin brighter and firmer.

She does regular juice fasts and favors the weekly juice-only program at the LifeCo wellness resort in Turkey—she’s been visiting every year for the past decade.

Sober as of 2018, barring a few slips that serve only to remind us that she’s human, her new life isn’t one the old Kate would recognize. A former close friend quips: “The new Kate is a horrible bore.”

Indeed, according to some, the pursuit of physical perfection, once considered so indifferent, today borders on obsession.

Moss doesn’t have to do any of this, of course. With a fortune of £70m, she has achieved ‘everything’ in the modeling world. She has to her credit more than 40 covers in the British “Vogue”, for example. But she can’t, or won’t, give up her desire to still be relevant in the world of fashion and beauty. This year she became the global ambassador for the British Beauty Council.

Having decided to create Cosmoss, however, the famous model was faced with a problem. Her fame comes from her looks and not her personality. However, in an age of the power of social media, where much is sold because you talk about it, being a “silent” celebrity model no longer works.

One thing’s for sure, though: Kate Moss’ 50th birthday will still be the hottest party of the new year.
