Journalist Evaristo Costa, 47, was admitted to a hospital in the city of Cambridge, England, due to complications related to Crohn’s disease, an inflammatory disorder of the gastrointestinal tract. On his social networks, the former Globo and CNN Brasil presenter said he was admitted to the emergency room at the health unit this Friday morning (12).
“And my ‘dear’ Crohn’s Disease brought me back to the doctor with some complications,” he began, explaining the problems and symptoms he faces because of the disease. “I have severe abdominal pain, as well as a lot of diarrhea, fever and weight loss. This all leads to weakness and fatigue,” he said, and even took morphine to reduce the pain.
Evaristo also commented on the complications of the chronic disease diagnosed a few years ago. “Low immunity leaves my body open for viruses and bacteria to enter, as happened to my leg a month ago. If I don’t take care of myself, I can have complications such as anemia and serious infections.”
In November, the journalist had to be hospitalized and the diagnosis was erysipelas, a type of skin infection on the leg. “Not everything is rosy! Look at me again in a hospital, what a phase huh”, he wrote, implying that the illness was a consequence of Crohn’s Disease.
