1. Mystery 151 Rave Down Below: Performance “This is a Party” by Georgia Sagri at the Old Olive Mill of Elefsina

On Saturday 13 January at 19.00 at the Old Olive Mill, the 2023 Elefsis Cultural Capital of Europe presents the performance “This is a Party” by Georgia Sagri, as part of the contemporary art group exhibition “Mystery 151 A Rave Down Below”, curated by Panos Giannikopoulou. The acclaimed visual artist reconstitutes and reactivates her work – presented for the first time in 2006 at the DESTE Foundation’s “Panic Room” exhibition – offering the body as a record of memory and experience, negotiating the relationship between politics and movement. During the performance, the sound of Sagri’s voice echoes excerpts from her teenage diaries and from the book Call of the political group Invisible Committee, forming an internal dialogue that contributes to the soundscape of the action, which is constantly repeated. A distant dance that seems never ending…
