BBB 24 has more technical problems than normal for something done on Globo

For as long as we can remember and enjoy watching national productions, especially on open TV, we have heard about the famous and popular “Globo Quality Standard”.

Created by José Bonifácio de Oliveira Sobrinho, Boni, back in the 1970s, when he was vice-president of operations at Globo, the leader’s way of producing accustomed the public to something little seen on Brazilian TV until then. It was a care and an absence of flaws that caught the eye.

Throughout history and even to the present, where it maintains a strong artistic refinement, even if it is no longer the Globo it was in past decades for various reasons, it is surprising the number of problems and technical errors that have been happening on BBB 24 since its debut last Monday (8).

It’s curious that this comes from a program run by José Bonifácio Brasil de Oliveira, Boninho, son of the former Globo all-powerful.

Since day 1, it is possible to notice at least one rather serious error in the live display, especially in the audio operation, which has not yet been corrected.

In the dynamics that chose the last six participants of the program, it was very difficult to hear what was being said. At the first party of the program, held last Wednesday (10), the sound of the performances of Menos é Mais, Soweto and Péricles left a lot to be desired.

But it was from Thursday (11) onwards that the errors became even more frightening. During the VT summary of the party, in a scene in which a conversation between Alane Dias and Nizan was shown, the editing placed — clearly unintentionally — the party sponsor’s jingle on top of another track.

Again on this day, the audio inside the house had problems. Tadeu Schmidt even started talking to his brothers without listening to them, something that rarely happens. During the Leader’s Trial, the trial stage was clearly dark and strangely lit.

To conclude the day full of defects, the departure of Maycon Cosmer, the first eliminated from BBB 24, was hampered due to problems in the program’s chorma-key scenario (false scenario). He recalled the worst chromas of broadcasters who were much less financially well-off than Globo.

It is also necessary to talk about the problems with pay-per-view on Globoplay. Especially on Friday (12), there were many spectators who complained about difficulties in watching what was happening in the house during the day. The person speaking to you even stopped trying because the image simply wouldn’t load.

Of course, a giant production like BBB 24 will have problems. It is a gigantic operation, involving, literally, more than a hundred professionals. But the profusion in such a short time on air is striking.

It’s a case of Globo thinking, understanding and seeing what happens. And to Globoplay subscribers, explain the difficulty with pay-per-view. After all, it is her standard that is at stake.
