In a climate of (expected) emotion, the 22-year-old Madison Marsh was crowned yesterday Miss America 2024at the final night of the Miss America pageant, held in Orlando, Florida.

Marsh, a second lieutenant in the US Air Force and a graduate student at Harvard University, represented the Colorado and emerged as the winner among 51 contestants.

The 22-year-old wrote history in the institution as well first time a serving Air Force officer wins the Miss America title.

For the record, Ellie Brough, who represented Texas, emerged as the first alternate.
