The outlook for tourism in 2024 is also favorable for Paros, according to reliable surveys, such as that of Big 7 Media.

Big 7 Media aims to provide potential travelers with recommendations, vacation ideas and inspiration, as well as the hottest travel trends. A team of experienced travel writers share their own experiences of destinations from every corner of the globe.

This research has revealed the best places worth visiting in 2024 and Paros is included in its findings. The Cycladic island is among the best affordable popular destinations to avoid over-tourism. As the study states, “the best time to visit the island is May to June and September to October. The temperatures are still high, but not too high, and there are fewer tourists.”

The survey among the authors and travel bloggers also states that “in 2023, we saw a rise in sustainable travel, multi-country travel, wellness travel and simply experiencing travel in a way we didn’t before the pandemic. For 2024, we see destinations of adventure and exploration, but also destinations that weren’t always considered so popular.”

Just recently, Paros was voted Best Luxury Destination at the Greek Travel Awards 2023 as part of the Sustainability Marathon organized by EOT and in which the destination sustainability projects were presented. It is recalled that the Cycladic island has joined the SustainableGreece.co.uk platform, following the care of the EOT Office of the United Kingdom and Ireland in collaboration with the municipality’s consulting company. The aim of this specific action is to promote the initiatives for the sustainability of Greek destinations and sustainable tourism development to the British public, but also to the international tourism market.

In his first statement, the new Deputy Mayor for Tourism, Thodoris Bizas, said: “We are already working to ensure even better prospects for Paros, based on viability, sustainability and the protection of the island’s character in the context of a rational tourism development with an emphasis on alternative forms of tourism. to ensure the even greater extension of the tourist season”.
