Among Beyoncé’s fans who were moved by the singer’s visit to Brazil in December was Ludmilla, a declared admirer of the American singer. The funk singer talked about her meeting with her idol while participating in the Podpah podcast last Wednesday (17).
“That was one of my biggest dreams, to meet Beyoncé. And tell her what she did in my life,” said Ludmilla. The funk singer said that she started singing pop and funk because of her idol and recalled that her stage name at the beginning of her career was MC Beyoncé.
Ludmilla explained that the contact happened months earlier, when she met the singer’s “right-hand woman”, Ivy McGregor, director of the institution BeyGood. When Ivy was in Brazil, she went to the funk singer’s house, Ivete’s show at Maracanã and even ate feijoada.
The funk singer told the Podpah presenters that she would not tell all the details about the invitation to meet Queen B in Salvador — she participated in a preview event for the documentary “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé” at the city’s Convention Center in December 21st—, but he told how he got there and found the diva.
“I parked my jet next to hers. Not even in my wildest dreams did I imagine this,” said Ludmilla about the arrival. When it was time to enter the dressing room to meet her idol, she said she was moved: “Bruna said: ‘calm down, breathe, or you won’t be able to talk to her’. I went, dried my tears and went in.”
The funk singer told how the meeting went and what Beyoncé told her: “‘You’re beautiful! Finally!'”. “What do you mean, finally?” asked Ludmilla. “I know you. I’ve seen one of your shows. It wasn’t in person, but I’ve seen your show,” was the singer’s response.
“I told her everything I wanted. I managed to tell her,” said Ludmilla. “She’s very cute, she’s very humble,” she added. The funk singer shared footage of the emotional meeting soon after on social media. “Never give up on her dreams,” she wrote.
