BBB 24: Luigi’s team speaks out after brother calls black woman ‘monkey’ again

The team that takes care of Luigi’s official profiles from BBB 24 decided to speak out this Tuesday (23) after criticism and negative comments about the brother on the web. The seller became the target of internet users after referring to the black woman with the racist term “monkey” for the second time on the program. “It’s not an apology,” the participant’s advisor began.

“Luigi, like many of us, is in a constant process of racial literacy and, like many of us black people, he still reproduces contradictions imposed by structural racism, which this text will not be able to resolve”, he explained about the statement’s objective of contextualizing the episode. “We cannot forget that being a poor black person from the outskirts is different from the one sitting in the gym chairs.”

The team also highlighted that the brother from Rio, who is in Paredão, “was always ready to listen and portray himself in the face of all the situations he was faced with” and continues: “Being understanding, funny, welcoming, affectionate and human, qualities that are distanced from the image of a black man. Luigi apologized and said he said it “automatically”. In the early hours of this Monday (22), he repeated the situation when some brothers were in the Leader’s Room talking about the love meter.

Vinicius commented on the emoji he received from Yasmin Brunet. “Yasmin said she gave me a snake just because I said I didn’t like blondes,” said the athlete. Then, Luigi commented: “Vinicius likes monkeys.” The model was shocked and outraged by the comment and Luigi tried to correct her speech. “Not monkey. He likes [mulher] black”.
