Ella Hunt will play Gilda Radner in the film “SNL 1975” for the American show Saturday Night Live.

According to Deadline, Ella Hunt was cast in the film based on the true story for the first Saturday Night Live in October 1975.

Emily Fern will play Laraine Newman and Kim Matula will appear as Jane Curtin.

Jason Reitman will direct from a script he co-wrote with Gil Kenan, based on interviews with Saturday Night Live showrunners, cast, crew, producers and writers.

“On October 11, 1975, a whirlwind troupe of young comedians and writers changed television forever. “SNL 1975” is the true story of what happened behind the scenes that night, in the moments leading up to SNL’s first broadcast on NBC. It depicts the chaos and magic of a revolution, counting down the minutes in real time to the infamous words, “Live from New York, it’s Saturday Night!”‘ Deadline reports.
